Extracting & Generating Knowledge with AI

CertHub's AI-powered Extractor helps you automatically generate and structure content for your Knowledge Units (KUs) and Knowledge Topics (KTs). The system supports two main approaches: extracting structured data from source documents or generating regulatory-compliant content based on brief information you provide.

This guide explains how to use the AI Extractor effectively to save time and ensure regulatory compliance.

How It Works​

  1. Choose a Knowledge Unit (e.g., Device Description) as the target for extraction and click the "Generate Content" button.

Generate Content Button Click the "Generate Content" button to start the AI extraction process.

  1. The AI analyzes the schema and provides clear instructions about what files or information you need to provide for optimal data extraction.
  2. You provide the required context—upload source documents or paste relevant content into the text area.
  3. The AI:
    • Analyzes the content
    • Identifies relevant data
    • Structures it based on the selected KU/KT schema
    • Suggests follow-up questions if more input is needed
  4. You review each generated result with full control to:
    • Accept
    • Modify
    • Reject suggestions before saving
  5. After reviewing all generated data, you're automatically redirected to the main overview page.

You remain in full control. The AI assists with structuring and suggesting content, but you decide what to accept or change.

The AI Extractor provides intelligent guidance to help you provide the right context for optimal results. When you select a Knowledge Unit, the system analyzes the schema and provides specific recommendations about what information would be most valuable for extraction.

Review & Refinement Process​

After the AI processes your documents, you'll see a comprehensive review interface where you can examine each generated Knowledge Unit and Knowledge Topic. This step-by-step review process gives you complete control over the final output.

AI Extractor Results Review The results section allows you to go through all generated KUs and KTs individually. For each item, you can review the AI's suggestions and choose to accept, modify, or reject the generated content before it's added to your product structure.
